It was love at first song when I heard “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” back in 2001. Then when I saw Train play live at the Wiltern in ’03 I knew the band was more than a one-hit-wonder. Over the years Patrick Monahan, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood have not disappointed as they’ve continued to release hit after hit, including “Soul Sister,” “Calling All Angels,” “Marry Me,” and my current favorite, “Save Me, San Francisco.”
This kind of longevity in the music industry is based on talent, creativity, business smarts and an unparalleled work ethic that sets Train apart from thousands of other bands. It’s no wonder that when lead singer Patrick Monahan selected jewelry to wear for a private industry concert, he chose rock star-worthy styles in silver by designer Scott Kay, a leader in the jewelry industry who shares the same attributes as the Grammy-winners.
Scott Kay lives by one rule: never compromise. For over 30 years he’s been acclaimed as one of the foremost authorities in engagement rings and wedding bands, creating unique, handcrafted designs in platinum, gold, and cobalt. I can tell you that brides and grooms love his designs just as much as the rock stars and celebrities do.
Catch Train – with Maroon 5 – on July 25th at the Hollywood Bowl.
