3 Easy Ways To Keep Your Engagement Ring Sparkly

Your precious, sentimental, means-the-world-to-you diamond engagement ring is likely the only thing you wear 24/7, 365 days a year. Be sure to take extra-special care of this symbol that was hand-selected by the love of your life: have it inspected and professionally cleaned at your local engagement ring store with an on-site master jeweler at least once a year.

In between the necessary pampering and polishing visits that will maintain your engagement ring’s beauty, keep it sparkly with one of these tried & true at-home techniques:

  • Ultrasonic Cleaner – Robbins Brothers’ Pink Sparkle Spa will bring the bling back to your ring, and a portion of the proceeds from each sale goes directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation. (A perfect reason to order this right now!)
  • Dawn Dishwashing Liquid – Famous for helping to clean the wildlife coated with oil after the Gulf of Mexico spill in 2010, America’s beloved dishwashing brand can also be used with warm water as a soak for your diamond engagement ring. A very soft toothbrush may be gently used around the main diamond – but only after a professional inspection shows the prongs are all in-tact.
  • Baking Soda and Hot Water – Lynn posted an eco-friendly solution for cleaning gold and platinum rings on The Daily Green blog that is a simple mixture of 1-2 teaspoons baking soda with 1 cup of hot water. Soak your ring for five minutes then carefully rinse with warm water.
