GRAND PRIZE WINNER ($1,000)
Joseph Wilkinson
Moment 1 – That one time I tried to be a good boyfriend and bring her home a chicken salad, then accidentally left it in the car all afternoon on a 115 degree Phoenix Summer Day, so I tried putting it in the freezer before she got home to hide the fact that I left it out… And she ate it, and got extremely sick 🙁
Moment 2 – When I woke up in the middle of the night to a stranger asking for money because she tried to take a cab to my place after losing her purse, and tried to pay the driver with a pack of wide orbit gum.
Moment 3 – I had a broken ankle the first time I met her and was in a walking boot. When she asked me what happened I said “I thought I’d break a leg and see if you wanted to grab dinner with me tomorrow.” She said yes, and we’ve been together for 5 years now.
Moment 4 – When I was golfing with her father and trying to prove that I was fit to protect her, and be her fiance… Then saw a rattlesnake on the course and ran away screaming. Apparently she has a similar scream, so her dad knew we would be an ideal match.
Moment 5 – That moment she told me I should buy her engagement ring at Robbins Brothers…
SECOND PLACE WINNER ($500)
Linda Ly
Moment 1 – Patience: Even after a long day he would still listen to me vent about my day at work and grad school. In addition, as crazy and old fashion my family is he chose to stick by my side.
Moment 2 – Family: His family has always welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like part of the group.
Moment 3 – Communication: He is always easy to talk to about anything and everything. We can always talk for hours about our goals and future plans. We can also always talk out our differences in a rational manner.
Moment 4 – Motivation: His accomplishments and future goals make me see that my future is perfect with him.
Moment 5 – Love: His actions from a simple text saying “Good morning” or ” I love you” to bear hugs and kisses make me know that forever is with him. He also knows the right time to surprise me with things like flowers to brighten up my day.
THIRD PLACE WINNER ($250)
Divine Ramirez
Moment 1 – One our first date, he held me close, my head rested between his neck and chest. I was secretly trying to sniff his cologne but didn’t realize how loud I truly was, he just laughed and sniffed me back.
Moment 2 – Our first Valentines Day together, we were eating our dessert, and for the first time I saw him lost for words, trying to speak his mind, but struggling to spit them out. Meanwhile I was fully involved with my chocolate lava cake, I took a second to look up and he grabbed my hand, blurted out the words “I love you!”
Moment 3 – I never had anyone send me anything nice at work, EVER! He sent me either flowers or chocolates once every week for 8 weeks straight. The girls in the office nicknamed him “Prince Charming.”
Moment 4 – He is a firm believer of being prepared, whether it’s an earthquake or zombie apocalypse. He proceeded to show me his survival backpack and explain to me how important it is to have certain things in a natural disaster to survive. A few days later, he made me my own survival backpack with a fanny pack to match.
Moment 5 – We met online, I lived in the Bay Area, he lived in Anaheim. He had never been on a plane before he came to see me.
