Magical Marriage Proposal at Disney World

Amanda Perez and Justin Roberts celebrate a magical Engagement at Disney World.

Engagement Date January 6, 2014
Wedding Date We haven’t picked our date yet but the wedding will be sometime in 2015.

In Amanda’s Words:

How did you two meet?
Justin and I met in volunteer firefighter cadet academy. We were both attracted to each other but were just friends until the last two months of the academy. I invited Justin to the beach to spend the day paddle boarding. However, a big storm came in that day which turned into a day of surfing instead! The next day it was decided that we would shoot bows & go swimming for the evening. After a couple hours of conversation and flirting, it was realized between Justin and I that this was more than just a friendship. And soon flourished into a dating relationship!

How did he propose?
It was our first evening on our Disney vacation! It was really cold and really windy! We had spent all day in the Magic Kingdom and so we went early to grab a good seat in front of Cinderella’s castle to watch the Wishes light and fireworks show! Since it was freezing, we were literally hugging each other while watching the light show on the castle. During that show he whispered “You know I love you right?” And I said “Yes, I really love you too” and then the fireworks started and he whispered, “you know I’m going to love you forever right?” And I just nodded yes. And he said “well then if you know I’m going to love you forever, can I ask you an important question?” And I said “um yes” (totally confused at this point) and he let go of me and knelt down on one knee and said “will you be mine forever?” And of course I said “Yes!” (And continued to nod yes afterwards)! We had Disney’s fireworks in the background and with tears in our eyes we continued watching the finale of the firework show while embracing each other!

What do you love most about your engagement ring?
I love how unique my engagement ring is. It doesn’t look like your average or standard ring! It has vintage flare but is also very current. I look forward to wearing it forever! It’s a timeless piece. My fiance purchased it at your Houston Loop-Galleria location and everyone was so helpful!
