Apparently the rich and famous love the idea of getting engaged during the holidays, just like the rest of us of mere mortals. Maybe it’s the romance found in Christmas classics such as Miracle on 34th Street (remember the scene at the end, where the nice man tells mommy he bought the house and they’ll now be a family?), Elf, Love Actually and The Holiday.
Here’s a list of celebrities who have celebrated Christmas with a marriage proposal and a diamond engagement ring:
- Actor Dean McDermott proposed to Tori Spelling after riding on a horse-drawn carriage through a Christmas Tree farm on Christmas Eve.
- Seal proposed to super model Heidi Klum on December 23rd, 2004 in a custom-built igloo on top of a glacier in Whistler, Canada.
- Actors Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict were engaged on Christmas Day 2006. Cory surprised her with a 1.5 diamond engagement ring in front of her entire family!
- Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are the most recent celebs to get engaged during the Christmas holidays
And Robbins Brothers predicts these celebs may get a diamond ring this Christmas:
- Angelina Jolie (why not finally make it official, Brangelina?)
- Rene Zelwegger
- Kate Middleton (Prince William’s longtime on-again/off-again girlfriend)
