Congrats to the newly engaged couple Katy Robles and Ryder Hohman of LaMarque, Texas! Setting traditional views aside, Katy decided to take matters into her own hands and ask her boyfriend of one year to marry her. She first visited the Robbins Brothers Baybrook store to select the perfect men’s band for him, a ‘man-gagement ring’ as some would call it.
Meet the Couple (in Katy’s words):
What are your interests/hobbies?
We like going to the beach in Galveston, camping, hanging out with friends and doing things with my children. We love watching the History Channel together.
What makes your relationship unique?
In the past year we’ve both had things to overcome. Honestly, most “new” couples would have NEVER made it past even one thing. But we both love challenges and to be honest…it only made us stronger. The most unique thing is we have similar childhood dreams. Now we can fulfill those dreams together.
What attracts you to your mate?
Other than him being HOT! No, seriously…Ryder is kindhearted. He is a hard worker. When I look into his eyes I see HIM, not what the world around him sees. I see the REAL him! He’s giving, challenging, crazy and fun. He also loves my children. It’s not easy to find a man that will love someone else’s children. Believe me I’ve looked. He challenges me everyday to be a better woman, mother and person.
Katy is a sweetheart and Ryder sounds like a wonderful man! A true gem indeed. Now we see why she wanted to pop the question.
