Engage it Like Beckham: An engagement ring for her, a man-gagement ring for him.

March 21, 2011 – Most celebrity marriages last a few years (if that long!) and very few produce offspring. The exception to this rule has been the gorgeous, fashionable and talented duo of Posh and Becks, aka Victoria and David Beckham. Back in the late 1990s when David was a star Manchester United footballer and Victoria was a Spice Girl, he proposed with a three carat marquise diamond with trilliant-cut diamonds on each side. Posh said “yes” and then surprised David with a “man-gagement” ring blinged out with diamonds.

Is a man-gagement ring the new “must-have” for a happy couple? It’s not every guy who feels the need to wear a ring to show the world he’s engaged, and some guys even say it’s a sign of being whipped.

David Beckham certainly isn’t lacking in the masculinity department. He’s the proud dad of three darling boys and a much-anticipated baby girl is on the way.
