Can I still propose on Valentine’s Day if I have not bought a ring?

Yes, and people do it every year. The thing that catches proposers out is not stock, it is the calendar: come in early in the week rather than on the day itself, because February is our busiest month and a Saturday afternoon in it is not when you want to be choosing.

How far ahead should I shop for a Valentine’s proposal?

Earlier than you think if the ring needs resizing or engraving, since both take bench time. If you are choosing a complete ring off the case and the size is right, the same day is genuinely possible.

What if I do not know their ring size?

It is a smaller problem than it feels. Borrow a ring they already wear on that finger and bring it in, and if that is impossible we can size it after the proposal. Most rings can be adjusted, though a few metals cannot, so ask before you buy.

Is it better to propose with a ring or choose one together?

Both work, and it depends entirely on the person. If they have strong opinions about jewelry, choosing together tends to end better. The proposal itself can still be a complete surprise either way.

Should I choose a natural or lab-grown diamond?

Both are real diamonds with the same sparkle, and the choice comes down to budget and preference. A lab-grown stone generally buys more size for the same spend. We carry both and can show them side by side.

Where is a good place to propose?

Somewhere that already means something to the two of you, and somewhere you can hear each other. Grand settings photograph well but they raise the pressure; a quiet place you both like usually produces the better memory.
