Classic

Classic is the answer for someone who wants the ring to look the same in forty years as it does now. A single stone, clean metal, nothing competing for attention. It suits an active life in a practical way too: fewer raised edges means less to catch on a glove, a bag strap or a climbing hold. Modern

Designers Cut Across All Three

These three families describe a look, not a maker. What If None of These Fit?

Then none of them fit, and that is useful information rather than a problem. Plenty of people land between two of these, or want a modern setting with an engraved band, or arrive with a stone from a grandmother and no idea what to put it in. How do I find out someone’s ring style without asking them?

Start with the jewelry they already own, especially the metal color they wear daily, then look at how they dress and decorate. If they have saved rings anywhere, a shared album or a board, that beats every other signal. Bring what you have to a consultation and we will narrow it from there.

What is the difference between a classic and a modern engagement ring?

Classic keeps the metal quiet and lets a single stone lead, which is why it dates slowly. Modern lets the setting do something visible: a split shank, a floating stone, a deliberate asymmetry. Both are timeless in their own way; they simply disagree about where your eye should go.

What makes a ring vintage-inspired rather than vintage?

Vintage-inspired rings are new, made with modern tolerances and modern stone setting, but finished with the detailing of an older piece: milgrain beading, engraving, a cluster halo. You get the look without the wear a genuinely antique ring has already taken.

What if we like completely different styles?

That happens more often than you would think, and it is usually solvable. A setting from one family with detailing from another suits a lot of couples, and our design studio builds that sort of compromise regularly. Come in together if you can.

Should the engagement ring match the wedding band?

It should sit well against one, which is not quite the same thing. Some settings leave a gap that a contoured band closes neatly. If you already know you want a particular band, bring it into the conversation early rather than after the ring is chosen.

Can I design a ring that is not in any of these categories?

Absolutely, and many people do. Our in-house design studio and master jeweler can work from a sketch, a photograph, or an heirloom stone you already own, and build something that belongs to no category at all.

Do you offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds in these styles?
