9 Carat Pink Diamond Goes Big At New York Auction

Wow, must be nice when money is NOT an issue. Just read about The Clark Pink, a 9 carat cushion-cut fancy vivid purplish pink diamond, which garnered a huge $15.7 million at Christie’s April 17 auction in New York. It was part of the collection of Huguette M. Clark, an heiress of the Gilded Age. Overall, Clark’s treasure trove of jewels, which Christie’s called “a fairy tale collection,” fetched $20.8 million, against a presale estimate of $9 million. This makes it the second most valuable private collection sold in the United States in the last decade, behind Elizabeth Taylor’s.

Wowzers. Can you imagine? Diamonds are wonderful, definitely a girl’s best friend and I have the privilege of blogging about them daily. But I sure could think of other things to do with that money….could you?? Let’s start a list! What would you do if you had a free $15.7 million to spend?

If i had that kind of money I would get my Ranch, And then i would HELP the kids make a wish for cancer 🙂 and give to thoes kids and other kids that do not have christmas or nothing to eat.I would finally have something to call my own insted of giving a hand out form the government. And it would be just for me,I would get my dog her surgery, and get my dogs fixed up a bit bills these days are so HIGH. then give some to my kids for there schooling and for there future. I would love to go on vacation and have fun with my kids just once in a lifetime and just smile with my kids.I would all so give some to my church they are having a builing fund that they want to raise for the church as well. and i think that i put some away fro the church as well. I would save all the animals that i could and save the animals that i could and kill them with love. well that is the end i Think. thank you Elise

If I had 15,7 million , I would make A donation to the Childrens Hospital in Long Beach,Ca to help with better medicine for the Peds Sickle Cell Anemia,Cancer Patient’s also help with Foundations to assist with Homlessness Family’s. I’ll still have more than enough to slurged on myself but this I want to help these kids that are not able to enjoy being kids due to their Health Illness. Then I’ll travel to Spain, London, and finish it off in Ireland. That will be my wish if I had 15,7 million.

I like your thinking Tanya! Excellent way to spend 15.7 mil. Nothing beats giving to others.
