5 Things To Do Right After The Marriage Proposal

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The day will come when four little words will have such a big meaning and change your life forever! In a good way that is, we hope. Will You Marry Me? After the nervousness, sweat, tears, excitement, kisses and all the other emotions that come along with the marriage proposal, you will be engaged. We know you’re wondering, what next?

No worries, we’ve got you covered! Here are the Top 5 things you need to do right after the marriage proposal. In other words, don’t let a week go by without crossing these off your list.

WOMEN
1) Change your Facebook status immediately from SINGLE to ENGAGED! (Yay! He liked it and finally put a ring on it! It’s time to show and tell.)

2) For all of your friends not on Facebook and still living under a rock, call and share the good news. Yep call, as in use a telephone (no texting allowed).

3) Go get a fresh manicure! Right away. You will be flashing that beautiful diamond engagement ring for the rest of your life. (And did you know the diamond sparkles more when your nails are done?? Okay okay, that’s just my story but I’m sticking to it.)

4) Treat yourself, and yourself only, to the spa! And then go EAT whatever you want. Your mentality will soon need to change from “me” to “we” so get in as much me-time as possible right now. Calories won’t count on this day either. (Trust, you’ll have the rest of your post-engagement days to diet so that you look oh-so-nice and slim in that gorgeous wedding dress.)

5) Plan a Party! Call it whatever you’d like—Engagement Party, I’m In Love Party, Off the Market Party or even an It’s About Time Party. Start thinking of how you’d like to celebrate this momentous milestone with the people you love most. It can be a big gathering at someone’s home or a small dinner with just your besties. Whatever you do, schedule some time to par-tay before you get knee deep into wedding planning.

MEN
1) Change your Facebook status immediately from SINGLE to ENGAGED! Yes please, it’s important that all of your unattached social admirers know that you’re no longer available–and that it’s not okay to send playful, flirty messages to your inbox.

2) Tell your father figure/mentors about it. They will be so proud of you! Or either they’ll tell you that you’re making a big mistake. Let’s hope for the former, okay?

3) Plan a trip with the guys. No, not Vegas. Maybe camping or even a guys’-day-out to bond and smoke cigars, if that’s your thing.

4) Start hitting the Gym/pump up the routine. You will be taking cute-couple photos from now on with your lovely future wife. Get used to it and make sure you’re all buff and handsome for the pics (Aww).

5) Burn the little black book! Period. Need we say more?

This list is really offensive. All men cheat, so we have to tell them to announce to the world they’re off the market and it’s not acceptable to receive flirty Facebook messages?

Guys once you ask and she says YES your life is never your own again, nor is the car and all the guy things you kept.
Is it worth it, who knows.
