Personalizing your wedding vows is a fantastic opportunity to express just how much you love your bride. It’s also the perfect way to tell all of your guests why she is so special to you. If you’re planning on writing your own vows but need help getting your creative juices flowing, here are a few snippets from real vows written by normal guys (and a few celebrities).

James to Mallory
I may not be a perfect man, I have my flaws but I will try to be the best imperfect man you will ever know.

Dallas to Claudia
I Dallas, take you Claudia, to be my wife. I promise to love you and be your faithful partner, for better for worse, for richer, for poorer, when the Chiefs are winning, and when they are losing, in sickness, and in health, and in Chief-induced sickness. I will be true, honest and loyal, and cherish you for all the days of our lives (including Sunday game days).

Brad Pitt to Jennifer Anniston
We’ll always split the difference on the thermostat.

Patrick to Jenna
Jenna, I’ve waited all my life for this moment. I have searched in all my years for the other half to my heart and soul, my perfect partner, the love of my life, and I have finally found you. You are everything I need and more. I am so extremely blessed to be marrying you today. When I look into your eyes, I see the most loving woman I have ever known, and I cherish you for all that you are. You are my best friend, my golf partner, my cooking instructor, my wing(wo)man, my teacher… my partner in every aspect of my life. You are the woman whom I admire and love like no other.

Paul Newman to Joanne Woodward
Marriage is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon,
it should continue through all the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the crowd.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
