According to Brides magazine, the most popular time for couples to say “I Do” is during the summer, with wedding season peaking from June to September. In honor of the romantic season and August being Romance Awareness Month, Robbins Brothers conducted an online survey to identify how couples choose to celebrate their summer with love.

The results reveal that personalization, some privacy, and travel over presents are trending for couples celebrating marriage proposals, summer weddings and anniversaries!

AND THE SURVEY SAYS:

If you’re a fan of summer weddings, where do you choose to say your “I do’s”?

• Beach wedding – 42%
• Backyard wedding – 11%
• Church; doesn’t matter the season, I want a traditional wedding – 18%
• Local venue 29%

As your honey goes to pop the question, do you want a professional photographer/videographer to be there to capture the moment?

• Yes, I want to be able to look back on the occasion – 57%
• No, I want the moment to be private to us only – 43%

How many bridesmaids/groomsmen are by your side on your perfect day?

• Siblings only – 9%
• Maid of Honor and Best Man only – 17%
• 1-3 – 23%
• 3-5 – 32%
• 5-7 – 14%
• 7+ – 5%

The bridesmaids and groomsmen outfits are key – your clique has to be looking good! What style would you want for the ladies?

• Everyone has to match (exact same color and outfit) – 24%
• Same color but different style to fit one’s body type – 52%
• The maid/matron of honor and best man should stand out – 13%
• Doesn’t matter what they wear as long as they show up! – 11%

What about the fellas’ outfits?

• Tuxedo – 37%
• Dressy (tie/bowtie) – 48%
• Casual (jeans/boots) – 7%

Every bride wants guests to oooh and ahhh as she walks down the aisle. What style of wedding dress do you dream about?

• Bohemian – 17%
• Princess ball gown – 30%
• Mermaid – 30%
• A-line – 26%
• Mini/short dress – 5%

Did someone say dessert? Along with the traditional wedding cake, what other sweets would you want at your reception?

• Doughnuts – 18%
• Ice cream – 25%
• Candy – 16%
• Dessert cocktails – 41%

Would you rather receive wedding gifts or money towards your honeymoon?

• Gifts – we’re newlyweds and don’t have much – 22%
• Money – we want our honeymoon to be the trip of a lifetime 78%

Fast forward to a year, how do you plan to spend your first wedding anniversary?

• Simple with a romantic dinner at home – 15%
• Travel to our favorite destination – 53%
• Attend an event (concert, sporting event, etc.) – 6%
• Fancy dinner – 26%

Do you expect to give/receive an anniversary gift?

• Yes – 73%
• No – 27%
