November 16: The long awaited engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton is such great news, so why the controversy over the engagement ring? Is it really that serious?! Prince William sealed the deal with his late mother’s engagement ring. It’s a beautiful 18-carat oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds that William’s father, Prince Charles, presented to Princess Diana for their engagement.
William’s decision is obviously a symbolic one but so many people object and have called the action “tasteless,” “ridiculous,” and even “tacky.” Robbins Brothers wishes the couple a lifetime of marital bliss and we love the ring!
