Robbins Brothers Searches for Diamond of the Season at Exclusive “Bridgerton” Inspired Brunch in San Diego
Esteemed Guests Enjoyed “Bridgerton”-Themed Costume Contest to Win a $7K Platinum Vintage Diamond Ring, Bouquet Making, a Live String Quartet, Photo Opps and Sparkling Diamonds
On Sunday, August 14, guests adorned in their best Regency-era-inspired outfits waltzed into the Robbins Brothers San Diego location to enjoy a morning filled with all things “Bridgerton.”
As they entered, guests were taken through a full “Bridgerton”-inspired experience inside the 8,136-square-foot store, passing through a magnificent floral arch, taking photos in front of a luxurious flower wall and customizing their own wispy floral bouquets. Attendees also enjoyed a “Bridgerton”-themed cocktail known as “Penelope’s Pink Potation,” decadent breakfast bites and desserts, listened to pop music transformed by a local string quartet, and of course, guests were invited to try on and play with the jewelry. Robbins Brothers store associates showed off vintage-style engagement rings reminiscent of the Regency-era, along with more modern styles.
“We were thrilled to bring the Bridgerton Brunch to our beautiful San Diego Robbins Brothers store,” said Kris Land, vice president of marketing at Robbins Brothers. “We successfully hosted this event back in May at one of our Houston stores and it was an enormous success. Afterward, our Instagram followers voted and chose San Diego as the second location for this event and it proved to be an excellent choice.”
Charlotte Schmidt, general manager of Robbins Brothers’ flagship San Diego location said that she was thrilled to host this event at her store.
“Our loyal guests absolutely loved this Bridgerton-themed event, and our store associates were equally as excited,” said Schmidt. “It was truly a joy to spend a morning celebrating in theme and playing with gorgeous diamonds.”
Since the swoon-worthy second season of “Bridgerton” premiered on March 25, 2022, the popular show racked up 444.8 million hours. The first season of “Bridgerton” remains Netflix’s No. 1 English-language TV show, with 625.5 million hours streamed in its first 28 days of release. Smithsonian Magazine recently reported that a big part of the Regency-era TV and streaming popularity is due to our romantic notions of courtship in that time and that old-fashioned romance is the most enduring.
Throughout the event, the latest news from Lady Whistledown was shared and five lucky guests randomly won prizes like a 14K rose gold diamond halo pendant valued at $445, and a pair of 14K rose gold diamond halo earrings valued at $395! The most exciting giveaway was slated for the best dressed – a $7,000 vintage platinum diamond engagement ring – which would be gifted to the “diamond of the season.”
The Robbins Brothers event staff voted after the soiree to select the top eight best dressed from all attendees. Voting went live on Instagram and TikTok from Tuesday, August 15 through Friday, August 19. A total of 927 unique votes were collected over four days and the winner was determined between social media results (50%) and event staff rankings (50%). The lucky winner was Susanna Mera and Alejandro Hernandez of San Diego.

The Bridgerton Brunch was hosted just a few weeks prior to the store’s exclusive Designer Event, taking place from September 5 to 11, 2022. The Robbins Brothers San Diego store has been a staple in the community since its opening in 1998.
