How did you two meet?
We met for the first time at Black Meadow Landing in Lake Havasu, CA on a river trip with mutual friends. The first time I saw her I was taken back…Her beauty was matched only by her intelligence and class. There was an immediate connection between us without speaking a word. She lived in Sacramento and I lived in Riverside. We kept in contact as friends although we were in other relationships at the time. We shared a common interest in our careers. She is an RN and I was a Firefighter Paramedic. I am now a Flight Paramedic on a Medevac Helicopter in the Coachella Valley, and she is still an RN at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento …5 years later we started dating and now we’ve been together for 4 years this month.
How did you propose?
I planned a weekend getaway to the southern coast and proposed to Tonya in Shaws Cove, Laguna Beach on the rocks lining the shore break. I hired a “secret photographer” to snap some shots before, during and after the proposal. I had made reservations for dinner in Newport Beach and spent the weekend on the waterfront in Huntington Beach.
What does she love most about her engagement ring?
Well I asked her and she joyfully explained– “I love how it looks and sparkles…the three bands with all the stones and the center ring with the halo and big stone in the center. It’s a good mix of modern with a tinge of vintage. I love the style. It’s unique…not like most rings you see out there. I’ve never seen anything as stunning as mine. I can’t stop looking at it!”
What did you enjoy most about your shopping experience at the Riverside store?
From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and helpful staff. I never felt rushed or pressured in any way to make a decision. I was able to browse at my pace and all my questions were answered. I spent more time with the friendly staff than I had anticipated because I couldn’t make up my mind between 3 different rings. But in the end I ultimately chose the original ring I felt drawn to as soon as I saw it. Tonya is in love with it and she was so impressed that I selected such a beautiful ring to present to her. I want to thank each person that made my ring buying experience unforgettable. I had to bring Tonya in to meet them after the proposal. 🙂
