Perfect Proposal Ideas for Spring

Longer days, warmer weather, and budding flowers signal that spring has officially arrived. What could be more romantic than a marriage proposal by the beach, at a botanical garden, or for you sports fans, at your favorite ball park?

Descanso Gardens | La Canada Flintridge, California: Located just 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, Descanso Gardens offers 160 acres of blooming camellias, roses, poppies, lilacs, tulips and even a peaceful Japanese Garden for urban couples in need of a nearby escape from reality.

Dodger Stadium | Los Angeles, California: Opening Day is April 6. Is there a more idyllic date place than Chavez Ravine on a Friday night? Even if your girlfriend is baseball-challenged, she’ll appreciate your ingenuity when you tell her about the baseball diamond as you slip the engagement ring on her left hand, in front of thousands of cheering, beer-drinking Dodger Blue fans.

Avalon, Catalina Island | California: Take the Catalina Flyer from Long Beach or Newport and arrive at this ultra-romantic destination in less than 90 minutes. Make reservations at Ristorante Villa Portofino for a proposal you’ll both remember forever.

The Prado at Balboa Park | San Diego, California: Start your date off with two pomegranate margaritas and share the shrimp & filet plate. Then hold hands as you walk to one of the many museums. Your marriage proposal will be the climax of an adventurous day.

The Houston Zoo | Houston, Texas: Book a tour for your sweetheart and surprise her with a behind-the-scenes look at the elephants, cheetahs or rhinos, followed by your surprise marriage proposal and the engagement ring of her wildest dreams!

White Rock Lake | Dallas, Texas: Pack a gourmet picnic lunch and a soft blanket and plan an afternoon of birdwatching at this Dallas landmark. When you get on bended knee and ask her to marry you she’ll feel like a character in a Nicholas Sparks novel.

Pioneer Square | Seattle, Washington: Voted as one of the best places to propose in the Emerald city, consider walking around the shops and historic galleries, or the bookstores and antique shops of the Queen Anne neighborhood. You might even prefer the idea of a horse-drawn carriage along the stunning Seattle waterfront.
