NBA New York Knicks star Amare Stoudemire knows that when it comes to the marriage proposal, planning makes perfect. This weekend Stoudemire popped the question to longtime girlfriend Alexis Welch, mother of his three children, during a romantic trip to Paris, France. Wow! Now that’s what I call ‘romance at its best’! He surprised her with the most gorgeous 8.5-carat diamond ring estimated to be worth $1 million. “I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place,” Stoudemire told People magazine. He’s thrilled she said ‘yes’ and excited to move forward as husband and wife.
Love and engagements are just beautiful. Congrats to the happy couple! I wonder if they celebrated the special occasion at the Jay Z and Kanye West concert also held in Paris this weekend. Hmmm, maybe. Paris was poppin’!
Amare confirms the event on Twitter, telling his followers:
“Paris, the food and lights were very romantic. When she said yes, it was surreal. I’m still floating. #engaged #blessed.”
