My bestie and I went to the BET Awards Show yesterday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and had a wonderful time! It was a fun and engaging evening for some of Hollywood’s most talented stars. My favorite part of the show was the heartwarming tribute to one of my favorite singers of all time, the late Whitney Houston. Mom Cissy Houston’s song dedication to Whitney was a tear-jerker indeed and served as the night’s emotional high. My goodness; not a dry eye around us. I also enjoyed Brandy and Monica’s performances as well as Frankie Beverly and Maze (positive feel-good music!).
Along with great performances, it was good to see some of our favorite celebrity couples at the show too. Jay Z and Beyonce are always a class act and still seem crazy in love, even after the birth of their baby girl Blue Ivy. And guess who else showed up–Kim and Kanye! Yep, yep. Will they become Hollywood’s next big power couple? Only time will tell, which leads me to today’s Coffee Break discussion.
