Like all “Bachelorette” fans across America who watched the season finale the other night, I was at the edge of my seat wondering why on earth Emily was taking so long to respond to Jef’s marriage proposal.
The Huffington Post reported that “Emily Maynard quickly decided that she had to be with Jef Holm, and in turn, he proposed.” But what drove me nuts were the 12 seconds after he proposed. He waited, and waited, and waited. The viewers waited, and waited, and waited. I nervously ate even more peanut M&Ms. (Justifiable, right?)
Finally, Emily said “yes.”
What I loved was that Emily didn’t focus on the 3.5 carat halo diamond engagement ring (the largest in Bachelorette history) but instead she was completely caught up in Jef’s emotional, heartfelt proposal. That’s why she’s America’s sweetheart. This single mom is sugar and spice and everything nice.
Definitely the best marriage proposal in Bachelorette history.
