Amber and Roland from Los Angeles met through mutual friends and have been a couple for nearly eight years. Amber shares, “We have a daughter in first grade and through all of our trails and tribulations, raising a child together when neither of us expected to be parents, we’ve certainly overcome the odds by pushing through and fighting for our family. In fact, we’ve grown closer and more in love every day!”
So we’re wondering….How did he propose?
“The proposal was very simple yet very special. I just celebrated my 30th birthday on April 1, 2015. I was also scheduled to have my ultrasound that day to find out the gender of our second child. We spent the whole day together with our daughter and they were both present when we found out we are having a boy! That evening after a wonderful relaxing day of naps, manis/pedis, dinner with dessert, and anything else a pregnant mother would enjoy on her birthday, we went to visit his parents to show them the ultrasound photos.
After some time with his family he hopped up from the couch, got down on one knee, said some very sweet words that made my hormonal pregnant self bawl, and asked if I would marry him! Of course I said yes! It was simple and beautiful, but it was something I’ll never forget. It was a special day… anything big that could happen did happen, all on April Fool’s Day and I’m blessed enough that none of it was a prank!”
Amber loves her emerald cut vintage-inspired engagement ring.
