A Celebration Of Authenticity, Uniqueness, and Sparkle (With Gemstones of Course!)
As we celebrate pride month, we thought it would be fun to explore the meaning behind the colors of the pride flags and match them to sparkling gemstones!
The original pride flag was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978 and its eight rainbow colors were inspired by “Over the Rainbow” from the Wizard of Oz. He modified the flag in 1979 into the six color flag that is commonly used today. Several other pride flags have been created over the years that have expanded the colors that reflect that many facets of the human experience.
