Well, as the year is wrapping up, we’d like to take a few moments to reflect on this past year. Have we changed for the better? How did our New Year’s Resolutions hold up? Mine didn’t go past January (learn to play the Ukulele). What accomplishments did I tackle? And… wait for it…. Who recently put a ring on it?!
Looking back now, a lot of big time stars got engaged! Check out the Round-Up, Christmas Edition, baby.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. I personally think this was a surprising engagement. What happened to Blake Lively and Leonardo Dicaprio?? Was it all just a dream…? Anyway, how adorable are Blake and Ryan? I’m so happy for them…. they are just a squishy ball of eye candy. She’s sporting that flawless light pink oval diamond set in rose gold, worth about $2 mil.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. I think I’m happiest for Jennifer to have gotten engaged to Justin! Justin and Jennifer, co-stars of Wanderlust, are just beaming with joy. Justin proposed to Jennifer with a massive diamond ring that literally takes up half her finger.
Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish. Kate Bosworth, star of Blue Crush and co-designer for JewelMint (one of my favorite fashion jewelry sites) tweeted a photo of herself with the radiant or princess cut diamond on a plain band. So pretty and chic!
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb. Sofia Vergara, who stars in Modern Family, got engaged to Nick Loeb with a seven carat cushion cut diamond with two diamonds flanking the center stone.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. We couldn’t mention Jennifer Aniston’s engagement without including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s, co-stars of Mr. and Mrs. Smith! Who will win the race to the altar?? Kidding. Who cares, really? A lot of tabloids put Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston in some sort of feud, but I honestly think they’ve all moved on to happier times. Pitt proposed to Jolie with an 16 carat diamond ring, with an emerald cut center diamond. Very vintage and fits Angelina’s and Brad’s style indeed!
Halle Berry and Oliver Martinez. There’s been so much drama with Halle and Oliver and.. well, the ex, Gabriel Aubrey. By now I’m sure everyone’s heard of the Thanksgiving Brawl that happened between Martinez and Aubrey… but, I digress. Let’s got on to happier news, like Halle Berry’s engagement ring! I love her unique gold and emerald engagement ring!
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroger. Although Avril and Chad were recently engaged, there seems to be some bad blood between Avril’s ex-husband, Deryck Whibley. Besides that, we’re happy that Avril Lavigne has moved on from her break up from Brody Jenner! Avril now sports a 14 carat pear shaped diamond engagement ring.
Kiera Knightley and James Righton. Kiera’s been spotted with a classic solitaire diamond ring. Classy and so chic. The engagement ring that will stand the test of time.
So, how do these celebrity engagement rings stack up? Do you have a favorite? I must say that Halle Berry’s ring is just absolutely gorgeous and daringly unique!
Our predictions for 2013 celebrity engagements: KimYe! Yes, as in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. We’re predicting a highly publicized, weekly rumor-filled, grotesquely huge diamond ring sporting engagement, but we’re not promising anything more than that. Hah!
