What Would You Do For An Engagement Ring?

  • July 11, 2011

When it comes to spending forever with ‘the one’ and getting the engagement ring of our dreams, we tend to reassess priorities. Right? Well sometimes. For example, Tracey isn’t a big fan of cooking…but admits she’ll even cook more for some engagement bling if that’s important to Mr. Right. Meanwhile Shulie would prefer to hire a maid but says she’ll befriend dusting & cleaning for the perfect ring. How about you? What would you do & how far would you go to get an engagement ring & marriage proposal? If you’re already engaged or married share what you did to seal the deal.

I would do anything (legal of course) to get the ring of my dreams. I will cook, clean, do laundry, run errands, watch football/ufc/boxing, etc. All these things I would do for my boyfriend to make him happy but I would do it with a big smile on my face for a ring. 🙂

I would sit next to my boyfriend and watch TV all day with him…. and let HIM pick the shows! I would also play the games that he finds interesting with him and show him that I really care. I wouldn’t change who I am but I’d go out of the way to show that I would be happy with him no matter what. I love my man for who he is… I basically want to show that our relationship is also about him <3 It takes two and I want him to be pampered once in a while too! Showing that he was important must work.. because he proposed!

To seal the deal for the engagement I just treated him like I wanted myself to be treated. I still treat him that way because I believe you are never done dating or falling in love with each other <3. I can't wait to get married now!

Being simply myself all the time. I love my fiance so much that I make him cards, paintings, crafts, I even made him a clay heart with c+v=a heart. He loves the little things I do for him. My fiance said there were none like me out there & he loved that about me just being myself & different. Now were about 4 months away of being 3 yrs together & 2yrs engaged which the week after we will be tieing the knot exactly 4 months from tomorrow. I always dreamed of getting married & he seriously didn’t until he remet me. I love my engagement ring & can’t wait to go get our wedding bands already.

I hate laundry with a passion, but I would commit to washing and folding all the laundry just to get my engagement ring. And maybe clean a little extra around the house. You gotta work for what you want.

I have been dying for an engagement ring. I have been giving my boyfriend little hints and asking him about a ring. All he tells me is “Don’t Worry”. In the mean time, I have been sprucing upon my cooking skills because they say,” A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”…………………Maybe I should make stake tonight hehe!

I would be willing to live next door to my future in laws. Which is saying a lot, not that I dislike his family, but he has a big family with 5 sisters. There is at least 10 people over there at a time. I would just make sure there were boundries but would move next door for my engagement ring!

My boyfriend and I are working to save for my perfect ring. It’s a gorgeous 1 carat princess cut diamond ring on a band with diamonds in it. Simply gorgeous!! Well, in order to save for the ring, I’ve taken on two jobs as well as still going to school and he is taking on two jobs as well as going to law school. I’d take on as many jobs as necessary in order to get that ring! No need to add cooking or cleaning–we do those together and he insists that I never have to be the only one doing so. Such a sweetie!

I would just be myself. But what i have done with my boyfriend is send him emails with pictures of the rings i like. He thought it was cute. But no matter what when the day comes i know i love the ring he chooses for me because its the ring he chose especially for me. I have a great boyfriend, i am so blessed to have Javier in my life. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

To get the ring I want just requires patience. I’ve showed my man which ring I’m absolutely in love with, but that it’d be nice for him to pick something with his own style to it as well, so he knows. But he also knows that I’ll love him regardles of what he picks out for me.

After a year of dating I was proposed to on our one year anniversary. To some of our friends they felt that it was too sudden and quick. We felt that it was a right time for the both of us…I took really good care of my man, maybe it was the way I was brought up. Always packed his lunch for him, made sure dinner was ready (i love to cook), house and laundry was clean. He had told me I was all he needed…a friend, a lover and his soul mate.

I really didn’t have tondo much for my engagement ring…. My fiancé bought me a promise ring for valentines and every time I will take it to get clean at Robbins brothers in Glendale I will go and see the rings and just make comments like ” oh look how gorgeous that ring is (sigh)” or just keep starring at them so he would know…. And it worked because I got a gorgeous ring!!!!! 😀

My friends and family all have agreed to help me get the ring of my dreams! I know he wants to do the very best for me that he can, so I will love anything! My girlfriends and I exchange emails all the time of what rings we like best so they are my ‘go-to’ on the ring! 🙂

Right before my college grauation party, my fiance (then boyfriend), his mother, and I went to make sure all of our last minutes details were taken care of. We can across the jewelry section and I just happened to peek inside and saw the ring of my DREAMS! It was a 2-carat engagement ring shaped like a flower and had 2 diamond bands, making the set a total of 4 carats. I thought there was no way in HECK we’d ever afford that, since I’m in grad school and only my fiance is working. My fiance and his mother came over to see and we wanted to try it on, but the store was getting ready to close and no one was available. I stood there and said out-loud, “I wonder how that would look on me” and his mother replied “Honey, 4 carats looks good on ANYONE!” Turns out, my fiance and his mother went back the morning of the party and got the ring! So, making sure his mother knew what I liked was the the sure way to make sure I got the ring that I always wanted!!

I told him I’d watch Lord of The Rings, Extended Edition, for my perfect ring. Little did I know he’d already bought a different ring, yet still went back and bought the one I wanted!

I am not engaged yet for sure and am some what traditional. I do not want to live together before we get married. But for the engagement ring i just might consider it. As long as we are not engaged forever.

I didn’t have to do much to get the ring I wanted since my guy didn’t want to choose the ring all by himself out of fear of me not liking it so he made me go with him to Robbins Brothers to point out what type of rings I liked and I even got to pick out the diamond! Ha. That was too nice 🙂
