A bezel is a rim of metal that encircles the center diamond of an engagement ring. This type of setting protects the diamond from chips and often doesn’t use prongs (the claw-like supports that grip the sides of the center diamond) for a clean look.

A full bezel encircles the entire center stone and a half bezel holds the stone with two metal arcs and leaves the sides exposed.
With a bezel-look engagement ring (compared to a true bezel setting), the center diamond isn’t set in the bezel (prongs secure the diamond to the ring) but a rim of metal surrounds the center diamond to give the same appearance as a bezel setting. This type of setting is more decorative than structural
Both a true bezel and a bezel look setting provide a clean, streamlined look and work well with all diamond shapes. The final result is stunning – just ask Taylor Swift!
You can incorporate a bezel look in unexpected ways for a truly unique ring.
