Compiling a list of top wedding and engagement surprises of 2017 has us feeling all kinds of way. Take a look back at all the wonderful stars that said, “YES” and “I DO” this year.
Nikki Bella and John Cena
WWE’s dynamic power couple, Nikki and John, got engaged in the RING! After winning a tag team match at WrestleMania 33, John presented his soon-to-be-bride with a 4.5 carat, round brilliant diamond to represent their 4 ½ year relationship. Guys, take notes!
Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman
Remember watching Emily Thorne’s and Daniel Grayson’s steamy, hot TV romance on ABC’s REVENGE? Well, SURPRISE! They are actually engaged in real life. The two kept their 5-year relationship out of the spotlight until John popped the question in the forest during a hike. Although we’re uber excited for them to get hitched, no wedding plans have been established; they are just happy to be engaged.
Julianne Hough & Brooks Laich
Julianne is now a Mrs.! The beautiful, Dancing With The Stars judge said “I Do” to NHL athlete, Brooks Laich, in an intimate outdoor wedding near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Hough wore two custom Marchesa gowns for her nuptials – one classic, sweetheart A-line gown down the aisle and a beaded, semi-sheer dress for their outdoor reception. Brooks kept it classy in an elegant black and white tuxedo.
Morena Baccarin and Benjamin Makenzie
Ben, The O.C.’s heartthrob has tied the knot with Deadpool actress, Morena. The lovely couple wed on M’s birthday at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on June 2nd – just 3 months after welcoming their daughter, Frances. Apparently, when the couple went to book the venue that was the only date available. Consequently, Morena had only one request – that Ben get her an anniversary gift AND birthday present every year.
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
“Tale as old as time, true as it can be…” Tennis pro, Serena Williams married Reddit’s co-founder, Alexis Ohanian on Thursday, November 16th as a way to honor Alexis’ late mother on her birthday. The Beauty and the Beast themed wedding was held at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans surrounded by their closest friends and family. Alexis told Williams, “You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport. And everything that I have done, everything that I’m proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we’re doing today.” Um, how sweet is that?
