Showing your partner love is already part of your daily routine. (Or at least it should be, right?!) But, sometimes, you may want to show your partner a little extra adoration—come on, your lover deserves it.
Here are 10 ways to pamper your partner. Try one or try them all to make your beloved feel extra special.
- Whip up a gourmet meal for two – There are few things more romantic than a home-cooked meal. Sharing food that you worked hard to create with the person you love is a special experience that shouldn’t be undervalued. If you’re not so skilled in the kitchen—or really and truly are pressed for time—you can always go the pre-made route and make dinner fancy by putting take-out on pretty plates.
- Go bling shopping – Even if you’re not looking to buy, there’s something so fun and exciting about trying on jewelry. Encourage your partner to check out every bauble that catches their eye—without worrying about the price. Later, when an anniversary or birthday rolls around, you’ll have a great idea of what he or she likes.
- Plan an at-home spa night – Run a bubble bath, break out the massage oil and light the candles so you can treat your partner to a luxurious evening of hands-on pampering. He or she will not be disappointed, even if you’re not a seasoned masseur. In this case, it’s the effort that counts.
- Send your partner out for a day of relaxation – If your partner is really in need of some TLC, consider booking a professional treatment at a local hotel spa (pick one with a pool for extra bang for your buck). Better yet, make it a spa day for two—it’s an investment that will not only ensure that you’re both nice and relaxed but it may provide an opportunity for romance, as well.
- Let him or her take over the remote – Hand over the reins the next time you’re figuring out what movie or TV show to watch. Chances are that you both compromise quite a lot when it comes to choosing your entertainment and end up settling on something you both can enjoy. Every now and then, watch whatever it is your mate wants, no complaints!
- Stock up on your loved one’s favorite things – Make a point to run to the store and grab your partner’s favorite snacks so that he or she has something yummy to nosh on. You might also consider picking up a candle in his favorite scent, flowers you know she will love or another favorite item that will be much appreciated. It’s the little things, after all.
- Take over the to-do list – Whether you have a lingering home project that needs finishing or you’re out of groceries, letting your partner put his or her feet up while you tackle the task at hand can certainly be a form of pampering.
- Help foster a hobby – Maybe your partner has been talking about how much she’d love to work on a vegetable garden or how he’d really enjoy having a wood shop station in the garage. Surprise your partner by setting up something you know he or she would really enjoy so you can encourage a long-time (or new!) passion of theirs.
- Encourage a makeover – If your partner has been talking about wanting to buy new clothes or needing to make a change to his or her hair, pamper them by taking them out shopping, or by booking that much desired salon appointment. Your partner will feel like a new person and you’ll get to see their confidence shine.
- Show your love and appreciation often – You don’t need a grand gesture to let your partner know how much they mean to you. Every day, you can spoil your lover with hugs, kisses, words of encouragement and other tokens of love. It’s easy to forget how these simple acts can really mean so much.
