Congrats to Robbins Brothers customers Daryl and Cristina from Arizona! Just Engaged!
Engagement Date June 15, 2014
Wedding Date July 4, 2015
How did you two meet? (In Daryl’s words)
In 2010, my friend Melissa (whom I dated when we were 13 years old) invited Cris and me to a 4th of July party. Cris was there on a date with another guy. That date wasn’t going well for him. After she sent him home, Cris and I started talking. One thing led to another, we exchanged numbers and we went on our first date that next weekend. Cris LOVES butterflies and roses, so our first date was to see the live Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum and the Rose Garden at the California Science Museum across the quad.
How did you propose?
Every year we go to Vegas for Cris’ birthday (June 17). For this trip we had several activities planned, including the Tournament of Kings dinner and show at Excalibur Hotel & Casino on the night we arrived (June 15). When you walk into the casino on the main floor before heading down to the theater, there is a photo concession stand where scantily clad models invite you to stand with them in playful poses. After they went through their routine, I asked if we could do one more pose. I snaked the ring out of my pocket, dropped to my knee and asked Cris to marry me. The model you see in the background of the “on my knee” photo and the photographer had no idea I was going to do this. The model’s candid reaction is obvious excitement and joy and the photographer just kept snapping shots. We were the first people anyone could remember EVER using their service to capture a wedding proposal. After she said yes and I placed the ring on her finger we went down to the theater for dinner and the show where they announced our engagement to the entire arena.
What does she love most about the engagement ring?
As you may have guessed from the description of our first date, it was no accident that the ring I chose for Cris is butterfly-theme. I spent several long weeks searching for a suitable ring before finding this one on the Robbins Brothers website. Once I found it, that was it. I knew it was the perfect ring for her. I was almost shattered when I learned that it was from the 2012 Spring Collection and no longer available in stores. When Lori Harris from the Ring Center explained that I could special order it from a manufacturing plant in China I was overjoyed despite it being Chinese New Year and there would be a bit of a delay. We love that this ring looks like a butterfly. It is a perfect choice for Cris who loves butterflies so much.

Just Engaged! One of our very own, Robbins Brothers’ visual merchandising coordinator Brandy & fiance Leon.
Engagement Date June 14, 2014
Wedding Date January 24, 2015
How did you two meet? (In Brandy’s Words)
We actually met on Match.com. My co-worker convinced me to try it out and it did not take long before I met Leon. We went on our first date at Intelligentsia Coffee in Old Pasadena. We stood there for hours talking. It was a great first date.
How did he propose?
We just got home from celebrating his Birthday and I went to change my clothes and when I got back, he hugged me and got down on one knee. I didn’t even give him a chance to say much. I blurted out, “of course!” I really didn’t see that coming.
What do you love most about your Engagement Ring?
I love color! So instead of a diamond I opted for a sapphire. It is a custom made engagement ring with an oval antique cut padparadschra Chatham sapphire. It is more on the orange side than the pink and it looks fantastic!
Leon knew Brandy wanted something unique! He presented her with a custom designed oval cut padparadschra Chatham sapphire from Robbins Brothers (well of course).
Just Engaged on the beautiful Island of Kauai! Congrats to Glendale, CA customers Dione & Lisa!
Engagement Date April 5, 2014
Wedding Date April 26, 2015
How did you two meet? (In Dione’s Words)
Lisa and I met in college while both attending San Diego State University.
How did you propose?
I took Lisa to the Island of Kauai for a few days. On the second day I rented a helicopter just for the 2 of us and got a tour of the entire island. It then landed at the Jurassic Falls which is a famous waterfall that was featured in the movie Jurassic Park. We both stood in front of this beautiful and iconic waterfall and when the moment was right I got down on one knee after saying a few kind words.
What does she love most about her engagement ring?
She loves the personal touch that I incorporated. I put emerald stones on the sides to honor her grandmother and mother who both have emeralds in their ring. Of course she loves that there is a big rock on her finger but the emeralds are very symbolic and meaningful.

How was your shopping experience? Stressful?
To be honest when I first walked in my plan was to just get an idea and then shop around at other stores to compare. The minute I walked in Nairi at the Glendale store made me feel very comfortable and she was very helpful throughout the process. After looking around for a while I finally set eyes on the perfect ring. Once we put the set together I knew that was the one. I didn’t need to go to another store to compare or even see if there was anything else out there. The special treatment I received and great experience made this process pain free. We will be going back for wedding bands as we get closer to our wedding date.
Bernard stunned S’Leslie with the most romantic marriage proposal in Central Park.
Engagement Date March 8, 2014
Wedding Date May 30, 2015
How did you two meet? (In Bernard’s Words)
I met S’Leslie on September 1st 2012. I never shared this with her but, starting back when I first laid my eyes on her at a stoplight coming from my fraternity social event, I looked to the right of me into a stranger’s car and saw an amazingly beautiful glow that left a lasting memory. At that point I had no clue that what we have now would or could have amounted to her being my wife. Ironically, when we exchanged numbers it was on the basis of sharing with her and her cousin the address to where the after event would be held. We had no intentions on dating each other at all. A boredom text from her a week later led to a phone conversation, which led to a date, which led to us eventually falling in love with each other.
How did he propose? (In S’Leslie Words)
For my birthday, Bernard took me to New York City to celebrate. To start the day off we went to Central Park to volunteer to pick up trash, so I thought. I was far from happy about that. However, after walking around for a while we reached Bow Bridge, which is known to be one of the most romantic landmarks in the park. We found a seat and began talking about our future together as we waited for his friend and “girlfriend,” which turned out to be a photographer. When they arrived Bernard asked them to take a photo of us on the bridge. As I am waiting for him to grab the camera, he began to tell me how much I meant to him while taking the ring out of his bag. Once I saw the box I completely froze with the biggest smile on my face. He continued talking but I was so in shock that I didn’t understand what he was saying until he went down on one knee and said “S’Leslie Reanyl Bell will you marry me?” It was finally my part so with the same big smile on my face I said YES!!!
What do you love most about your engagement ring?
I love the intricate detail the most. It’s absolutely stunning!
Lori Harris in Robbins Brothers’ Ring Center helped Bernard choose an elegant engagement ring with intricate details for S’Leslie!
Congrats to Bernard and S’Leslie! Welcome to the Robbins Brothers Family!!

Congrats to our newly engaged couple Jason Vander Meer who proposed to his lovely fiancee, Tonya Lynn, in Laguna Beach, CA
Engagement Date April 25, 2014
Wedding Date September 2014
In Jason’s Words:
How did you two meet?
We met for the first time at Black Meadow Landing in Lake Havasu, CA on a river trip with mutual friends. The first time I saw her I was taken back…Her beauty was matched only by her intelligence and class. There was an immediate connection between us without speaking a word. She lived in Sacramento and I lived in Riverside. We kept in contact as friends although we were in other relationships at the time. We shared a common interest in our careers. She is an RN and I was a Firefighter Paramedic. I am now a Flight Paramedic on a Medevac Helicopter in the Coachella Valley, and she is still an RN at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento …5 years later we started dating and now we’ve been together for 4 years this month.
How did you propose?
I planned a weekend getaway to the southern coast and proposed to Tonya in Shaws Cove, Laguna Beach on the rocks lining the shore break. I hired a “secret photographer” to snap some shots before, during and after the proposal. I had made reservations for dinner in Newport Beach and spent the weekend on the waterfront in Huntington Beach.
What does she love most about her engagement ring?
Well I asked her and she joyfully explained– “I love how it looks and sparkles…the three bands with all the stones and the center ring with the halo and big stone in the center. It’s a good mix of modern with a tinge of vintage. I love the style. It’s unique…not like most rings you see out there. I’ve never seen anything as stunning as mine. I can’t stop looking at it!”
Jason presented Tonya with the most beautiful diamond halo engagement ring from Robbins Brothers in Riverside.
What did you enjoy most about your shopping experience at the Riverside store?
From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and helpful staff. I never felt rushed or pressured in any way to make a decision. I was able to browse at my pace and all my questions were answered. I spent more time with the friendly staff than I had anticipated because I couldn’t make up my mind between 3 different rings. But in the end I ultimately chose the original ring I felt drawn to as soon as I saw it. Tonya is in love with it and she was so impressed that I selected such a beautiful ring to present to her. I want to thank each person that made my ring buying experience unforgettable. I had to bring Tonya in to meet them after the proposal.
