2) Sherri Shepherd & Lamar Sally: Thanks to her bestie Niecy Nash who introduced the two, The View co-host Sherri Shepherd said ‘yes’ to TV writer Lamar Sally the day after Christmas. He asked her 4-year-old son for permission before popping the question. What a gentleman!
3) Shania Twain & Frederic Thiebaud: “He’s been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend,” Twain gushes of Thiebaud. The two wed on New Year’s Day 2011 in Puerto Rico.
4) Hugh Hefner & Crystal Harris: Although their engagement was called off just days before the wedding, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner proposed marriage to his gorgeous playmate Crystal Harris on Christmas Eve. Both agree it was the most memorable Christmas ever, even though she’s referred to now as a runaway bride. (Publicity stunt? Umm maybe.)
5) Tony Romo & Candice Crawford: The famous Dallas Cowboy asked reality star Chace Crawford’s younger sister, Candice, to spend forever with him at her 24th birthday celebration at Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant. The two are expecting their first child together.
6) Nicole Richie & Joel Madden: They exchanged wedding vows in a beautiful winter ceremony. But here’s the twist: There was an elephant with an elaborate headdress seen entering the premises! Richie once said she wanted a lavish wedding with elephants that represent good luck, lots of people and a horse-drawn carriage. Wish fulfilled.
7) Vivica Fox & Omar White: The actress and club promoter were engaged the day after Christmas when he presented her with an 8-carat ring during their stay at the Ritz Carlton in South Beach, Florida. (Some might call her a cougar due to the 20-year age difference but then again does age really matter?? I say, sometimes!)
8 ) Bret Michaels & Kristi Gibson: After months of engagement rumors, Bret Michaels finally asked his on-off girlfriend of 16 years and two kids together, Kristi Gibson, to marry him on the finale of his VH1 reality show, ‘Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.’
9) Jason Mraz & Tristan Prettyman: The singer said “I’m Yours” to his fellow musician by asking her hand in marriage. “SHE SAID YES,” he tweeted on Dec. 24. Prettyman tweeted the same day. “For once, I am speechless…I did good! Holy crap! Man of my dreams!! For the rest of my life!!!” Unfortunately they broke off their engagement a few months ago but we see them getting back together in the near future.
10) Battle of the Exes: Nick Lachey liked it, so he put a ring on it when proposing to Vanessa Minnillo in early November in a casual beach setting. Just a week later his ex-wife Jessica Simpson announced her engagement to Eric Johnson after five months of dating. He proposed with a three-stone diamond and ruby engagement ring that Jessica began flashing right away.
